Friends of Cats
A special thanks to our partners. Friends of Cats' no-kill philosophy has given thousands of cats the opportunity to receive the care and shelter they need and find the loving homes they deserve.

Guardian Angels Animal Rescue is a nonprofit organization based in San Diego, California. Our mission is to rescue, care for, socialize and adopt out (whenever possible) abandoned, lost or stray cats in need of loving homes.

We are dedicated to promoting the spaying or neutering of all pets while providing the best medical and nutritional care available. All animals receive a complete health exam by veterinarians and are spayed or neutered and vaccinated before they are adopted.

We Need Foster Parents!

Are you looking for a furry friend to love, but may not be able to commit to a permanent home? We need Foster Parents who can give a cat a home and love until an adoptive parent can be found. Foster parent responsibilities include:

  • Providing care and affection for your foster cat;
  • Petting and playing with your foster cat so that he/she is well socialized when it’s time to move to its forever-home;
  • It’s helpful if you can transport the foster animal to vet appointments as scheduled and provide updates on their progress;
  • Help make the animal available for adoptions at events.

Guardian Angels can help by providing food, medication (if necessary) and other maintenance needs.

If you think you can help a furry friend by providing a temporary home, please contact us at: info@GARescue.org

Happy Endings

Attached are two recent pics.  The first one was taken the day before I found out he was sick.  He jumped onto my bed to wake me up on a Sunday morning.  I took this picture from my phone and sent it to mom saying, "Good morning Grandma!" She then replied back saying, "Good morning Skai!"

The second picture is one of my favorites... taken about one week ago.  He just looks so sweet and precious in that photo, which he was!

Happy endings come in different forms and this is one most people don't think about...

I'm not really sure where to start because I have so much to say.  I'll try to keep it brief.

Skai came into my life on Saturday, 11/6/2010 and since then, my life has not been nor ever will be the same.  I've had a few pets in the past but none like Skai.  Him and I shared a special bond.  He played fetch with me, followed me all over the house; when I got up from one room to go into the next, he too would get up and go to the next room with me.  Everyday when I walked through the door, I would whistle for him and he would run out from the bedroom to greet me... so excited for me to pick him up and to shower him with kisses.

He was the sweetest, most well-behaved, loyal kitty who also had a lot of love to give.  Skai needed me as much as I needed him.  He taught me how to open my heart and showed me how quickly I can fall in love.

 Unfortunately, cancer got the best of him and our time together came to an end on Tuesday, 2/22/11.  Skai had a tumor on his lung and fluids surrounding his lungs, which was making it difficult for him to breathe.  I tried nursing him back to health but wasn't successful.

 I miss Skai dearly and he will always have a piece of my heart.  This may not seem like a "happy ending" and for me, at this moment, it's not but it is for Skai.  I showed him what it means to be loved and he ended his life knowing that someone cared for him and loved him deeply.  Not a day went by that I didn't tell him how much I loved him.

Our story is different than most but I felt like Skai would want me to share him with others.

macygreyandfriend Please find attached, photos of our wonderful, adopted cat "Milani," whom we now call Maycee Grey - with our 2 1/2 year old grandson, Gavin. I think Maycee thought Gavin was another cat! Too precious. We adore her. Thank you for keeping Milani safe and happy until we could adopt her!

Update (and more pics)  wow they grow so fast – Kali is getting huge – lol. They are a handful….Kali is more –" leave me alone to explore" and jada is the lover….i love them both!

Thanks again, Cindy

We adopted a kitty from you last Saturday at Petco. I just wanted to let you know that he is the sweetest, most well-adjusted, loving kitty I've ever owned. We are so pleased to have him as an addition to our family, which is now 2 cats and 2 dogs. His foster mom was Pattie...let her know what an amazing job she did (and is still doing) for your organization. Thank you for all your hard work!

Stitch Here is that little rascal.  He is sure a joy to our lives.  He is Mr. Love and just loves to cuddle in my lap and watch TV.  He has Vince wrapped around his paw too as they are together most of the day.  Vince plays with him and he just loves to run like a mad man thru the house.

Thank you - Susan

p.s.  "Hi Carolyn,  I love my new home.  They are just fantastic to me and I have a real comfy like style.  See my latest picture, Love, Stitch"
Guardian Angels Rescue - Adopted Cat - Sammy

Thank you so much for our kitty! Once upon a time his name was Beringer but we have lovingly dubbed him Sammy. :) He sleeps with us every night and will often curl up under the covers next to us! He seems so happy to have a home with us and we're loving him. You guys do wonderful work!

We adopted Bruce (previous name Tiger Woods) at the Del Mar cat show. He is hands down the sweetest little guy ever. He warmed up to both his brothers immediately but unfortunately Paul, who is Bruce's doppleganger, wasn't so quick to accept. There was hissing and meowing and tension but as you can see in this picture taken a week after Bruce came to live with us, they have become incredibly close. It just took a little time and patience. I am so lucky to have found this guy. Thank you so much Guardian Angels Animal Rescue! -
